social persuasion + social strategies inspiration

Do you know about the social persuasion blog? I just heard about Caroline Kawashima's blog from Jeremiah Owyang (yah, not above name-dropping here...) who tweeted her wrap-up post of his recent Social Strategy webinar. (Links to the all the content from Part 1 and Part 2 of the series are there, and you can still catch Part 3 coming up in April.)

Great wrap-up, Caroline! You captured all the relevant points of the webinar and caught some I missed. One of the best points Jeremiah and Charlene (Li, co-presenter) made was #2 - Don't Forget Your Employees. Rolling out social media strategies within an existing organization or company can be traumatic for employees who are already stretched too thin and perhaps fearful of layoffs. Building an internal communications plan into your big mix of social strategy is crucial.

How to do that? First step - and probably most important - is to have a good handle on what your particular company culture is, if you have "digital natives" or "digital immigrants" or a combination of both, and create an all-inclusive strategy. Some good tips & tricks from Sarah Perry in her ezine article.

And I also have to say thanks to Charlene and Jeremiah for producing the #socialstrategy webinar in the first place - a very good, very focused, high-content series. Available to everyone. For free. Now that's what I call social media. Thanks guys.
